Specific Requirements For Teaching English In Academies In South Korea

·         Visa

One of the first basic requirements for teaching English in South Korea is having an E-2 teaching visa. To apply for an E-2 teaching visa, you need to visit the nearest Korean embassy, as they would handle all the formalities related to it. To apply, you must possess a bachelor's degree, have a clear criminal record, and carry a teacher's license.

·         Holding Proper Paperwork

The second most important requirement that you would need to show the ESL recruiters in Korea would be proper paperwork. You need to show a copy of your bachelor's or diploma degree certificates, a few passport photos, an original passport, and proof of having a clear criminal record. And the copy of the employment contract from the previous recruiter if you worked before.

·         Private School And Public School Requirements

There are two types of schools in south Korea from where you can choose to start your teaching career abroad. One is private, or hagwon, in Korea, and another in public. For the hagwons, it would be more on merit values than presenting your resume and competing for the interview over the phone or via video chat. And, for public schools, you need to have a certificate of EPIK.
